  28. How much is a 10 year old CS degree worth?  How about 5?  Credentials
  29. are great, but some companies are silly about it.  If I have a 10
  30. year old CS degree, and have been working the last few years as a
  31. pretty much anything, I could probably get an interview at one of
  32. these degree only shops as a programmer, even if for only a junior 
  33. position.  On the other hand, if I have no degree, but have been doing 
  34. doing client/server, sockets, daemons, database, etc., programming,
  35. for the last few years, many places won't even read my resume.  This
  36. seems strange to me.

  38. There are lots of reasons for people not to have a degree, folks.
